Lazzaro, Mills, Buffomante Fastest in Detroit Morning Warmup

DETROIT - Anthony Lazzaro, of Atlanta, Ga., and Tony Buffomante, of Naperville, Ill., were fastest in GT and GTS during the morning warmup for the Round 6 of the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge season, the Cadillac V-Series Challenge presented by the Metro Detroit Cadillac Dealers at Belle Isle Park.

Lazzaro, in the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, posted a best lap of 1:32.730 around the 2.35-mile street circuit. Lazzaro also led morning warmup at Long Beach earlier this year. Teammate Nick Mancuso, of Chicago, was second in the No. 16 R. Ferri Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 at 1:33.255, with Round 5 winner Johnny O'Connell, of Flowery Branch, Ga., third in the No. 3 Cadillac Racing Cadillac CTS-V.R at 1:33.292.

Michael Mills, of Angleton, Texas, was fastest classified GT-A driver at 1:35.233 in the No. 41 EFFORT Racing Porsche GT3 R.

In GTS, Tony Buffomante, of Naperville, Ill., laid down a flier in the No. 33 Capaldi Racing/Ford Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302S at 1:39.042, a lap nearly 1.7 seconds faster than Saturday's fastest race lap. Second was Lawson Aschenbach, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., in the No. 1 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro (1:40.449) and third was Jack Roush Jr., of Livonia, Mich., in the No. 60 ROUSH Road Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302R (1:40.673).
